According to the ancient text, the various means by which one practiced Yoga was directly correlated with the Aims of those very practices. Yoga taught humans that they don’t need to worry about time, or what it can do for them but how to live in the present moment by practicing Yoga.

In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna offered Arjuna a solution for overcoming his inability to participate in life by practicing Yoga. Arjuna had fallen into despondence and lifeless when Krishna, his friend and his chariot driver, taught him of living life by practicing Yoga. The word Yoga has been used by Krishna for about a hundred times and hence he has a lot to Say about it. In the Bhagavad Gita, the word Yoga appears in its Sanskrit form, where it has been used seventy eight times as a noun and thirty six times as a verb called as Yukta.

According to Bhagavad Gita, practicing yoga has so many forms that almost everybody around is practicing it, but they just don’t know it yet.

In addition to Aasana and Pranyama, yoga according to the Bhagavad Gita:
• Clear, discerning, totally voluntary, and dynamic participation in one’s life. For all those people who are clueless to proceed further in life just because they are worried about the fruit their action will bare.
• Yoga is the light that is fueled by Love and gives everlasting peace and joy.
• Yoga emphasizes on one’s actions that help in elevating us, motivates us, and does all of it in a harmonious manner to other living beings.
• Yoga frees one’s mind, cleanses, balances, inspires and gives joy. It is related with the interconnectedness with all life around them.
• Yoga is nourished in the company of other Yoga practitioners, by offering love and affection, and the understanding that arises from it.
• Yoga is a heightened sensitivity and awareness of all life around us and within us; it gives awe with life’s wonder and beauty.
• Yoga is illuminating and is a journey that does not ends with death.
• Yoga is a vision that excludes nothing from its practice.
• Yoga is our intimate connection between universe and the mystery beyond it.
